At the core of our work is a family-owned business focused on giving great service and offering a wide range of high-quality Canadian-made furniture that you can’t find anywhere else. Smitty’s opened its first store in 1949 and has been dedicated to providing Canadians with quality home furnishings ever since. The founding family is still involved in our business today. We take pride in being a reliable furniture retailer serving Southern Ontario.

Over the years, our staff has grown to 50 people in two locations. We hire friendly team members who aim to give great service to every customer. Our team feels like family, and we treat them that way. Many of our employees have been with us for many years. We train each person to meet Smitty’s standards, and they enjoy helping customers and providing a friendly experience with their expert knowledge.

Smitty’s is committed to supporting the community that has helped us grow. Our team participates in various projects and gives back in meaningful ways. We are proud to have donated to food banks, mental health organizations, women’s crisis services, and hospitals. We also feel honored to have provided fabric for personal protective equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Smitty’s has contributed to many fundraising efforts and enjoys working with different charities in our communities. Supporting the community is important to our founding family, the Schmidts, and we are happy to continue their legacy of charitable giving.
